Vintage Kay "Wildwood" Hollow Body Electric
I truly hate to part with this extremely rare, beautiful vintage Kay guitar from the late 60's, early 70's. This guitar was Kay's response to the Fender Wildwood series guitars of the same era. The guitar is in amazing condition. The body is mostly free of any dings and wear (nothing that you can see from more than a foot away- any "dings" are in the surface and do not go deeper than the very top finish). This guitar is strung with flatwound 12's and the neck has been adjusted (the neck was shimmed- this is very normal for any guitar- for the correct angle of the flatwounds and the truss rod works well) for good, playable action. The flatwounds help make this a beautiful sounding jazz box. The electronics work great, you have to love the "faders" tuners hold nicely. Chrome is in great shape. This guitar has aged extremely well and has a lifetime of use ahead.
The frets show a small amount of wear, but very playable. The only issue that I really sticks out is that the back of the neck was drilled for a strap button years ago and then redrilled about an inch higher for another. The original hole was filled with wood putty and a dot of clear coat. Looks good and does not effect the playability or the structural quality of the guitar. Other than this, this is a great guitar!
I ship FED EX ground and insure for full sale price (included in shipping cost). I have shipped 50 or so guitars without a single issue, know that I over pack for safety of your investment (and mine).
Kay fans enjoy the pictures!!!
Crazy cool! Check out the "faders" and the pickguard!
Very clean front and back.
Tuners hold really well.
